The new, TI-73 Explorer from Texas Instruments is an affordable graphic calculator.  It contains software and flashing technology that’s designed for middle grades math and science.  Thanks to its flash technology, it can be upgraded for future applications.  The TI-73 Explorer can be used for engineering, trigonometry, calculus and miscellaneous sciences.  Middle school students can use this calculator for fractions and pre-algebra. It’s compatible with other classroom products, including CBL 2 and LabPro.

This graphing calculator is easy to use with its scrolling LCD screen. Users can enter formulas, step by step, on to the screen.  The graphing software will allow users to plot and display graphs for solutions.  Teachers especially love this hand-held Texas Instrument as it gives them a chance to use a larger screen than those of older calculators. Users of TI graph calculators can even send and receive lists to one another!

The TI-73 Explorer can graph up to four functions simultaneously.  Users can choose from seven graph styles, including animate, thin and thick; also, up to 999 elements can be stored at once.  This calculator features 13 zoom features and an evaluation table. It has the ability to analyze and plot data, develop number patterns and convert angles.

Perhaps the only downside to this calculator is that it doesn’t have as many features as some other TI models.  Still, it offers a great deal for its price, and can be used for a variety of different subjects.  It’s a calculator with high capabilities, and can last for years!  The TI-73 Explorer is easy to use and comes with an owner’s manual that is simple to understand.

The best thing about this graphing calculator is that it can be used for anything from simple fractions to calculus.  It’s a superior tool that can do a great deal with its functions.  The buttons are arranged in a way that makes them very readable and easy to use.  It doesn’t take a whole lot of time for a user to get the hang of the TI-73 Explorer.

Those concerned with durability should definitely consider this calculator.  Unlike most other calculators, this one will not break when dropped.  Its battery life is longer than that of other TI models, as they only need to be changed about once a year or so.  Needless to say, the TI-73 Explorer is well worth its price of $60-$90 (which varies depending on the store).  Consumers who choose this calculator will be satisfied with all its features!
